So, when I was creating my cut out image of the power station, I spray glued it. It just happened that the rough card that I used to put behind the image when spray gluing, was black. The spray glue stencilled the cut out part of the image onto the card. From this accident, I came up with a really interesting idea.
Originally I was going to use white spray paint onto black fabric. After spending ages cutting out my stencil, the spray paint bled onto the fabric and didnt work at all, this meant I had to think of a different way of creating a similar effect. Cutting out a new stencil, this time I sponge printed white paint onto the black fabric. This worked really well. My first idea was to use the 'mould' fabric in my previous post for the top of the dress, but I then changed my mind and thought it would look better if I used the stencil on white fabric and printed in black. The final dress has turned out really well and I am so happy with the result. I plan on taking professional photos of this, but this is just to show you for now.
